We walk for Dad!
Almost 6 years ago we got the call that Dad was in emergency surgery in Albany, OR. My sister an I drove to Albany to be there with Mom and wait. Dad's colon had ruptured. They removed 18 inches and "fixed" him up. A few days later he was told that a tumor had weakened his colon allowing the rupture to happen and it was cancer. NOT our dad...he doesn't get sick! Dad started chemo September 2011. After chemo, tests came back cancer had spread to his liver. He has now had 3 liver resections at OHSU and had chemo numerous times. He has battled and been through so much! October 2015 he had his 3rd resection and a large tumor removed near his liver. By the grace of God, dad is doing well and has not had to under go chemo! YAY! Blood tests every few weeks to check tumor marker level and scans ever 3 months. Lots of prayers and crossing of fingers and toes during those times!!! LOVE you so much Dad!! And mom...love you too! You have been an amazing "nurse" for dad!!!
I have now been screened and will continue to do so every 5 years!! Early detection!!!
