Welcome to My Personal Page
I'm participating in the 2017 Get Your Rear In Gear 5K Run/Walk, an event to benefit the Colon Cancer Coalition. I want to make a difference for the thousands of people in my community touched by colon cancer. The funds I raise will stay right here, helping with prevention, early detection and treatment for this disease.
Please consider joining my team, Hunt for the Cure, in honor of Doc Mahaffey, a "Blue Ribbon Warrier". Doc Mahaffey has done so much to support those with a colon cancer diagnosis (including me) and to promote colon cancer awareness and prevention within the Charlotte community and in North Carolina. Most recently he created the design for a prevent colon cancer license plate for the state of North Carolina. Sadly, Doc is ailing and it is unlikely that he will be at this year's race.
Get Your Rear in Gear is a great event for adults and children. Please join the Hunt for the Cure team. For registration information, you can visit http://join.coloncancercoalition.org/site/TR?fr_id=2900&pg=entry -- be sure to either click on "join an existing team" to join the Hunt for the Cure team or, if you can't join us and would like to make a donation, "donate to a team or individual." You can also participate by becoming a virtual racer or joining me in the fundraising efforts! Please visit my Get Your Rear in Gear page and make a contribution online, by mail, or phone.
Planned by local volunteers, with support from the Colon Cancer Coalition, Get Your Rear in Gear is the nation’s largest colon cancer event series. Run/Walk events are held across the country in an effort to raise the awareness of the importance for colon cancer screenings. Nearly 50 will be held in 2015 alone. The money raised at these events is invested back into the local community to promote prevention and early detection of the disease and to provide support to those affected.
Thank you for your consideration and support.
Please support my efforts to build hope and beat colon cancer! Thank you in advance for your help.
